Located within the sacred city of Kanchipuram, Tiru Neeragam is one of the lesser-known but highly revered 108 Divya Desams, enshrined in the Naalayira Divya Prabandham. This holy site, though modest in scale, is rich in divine significance and Vaishnavite tradition.
Divine Highlights
- Moolavar (Presiding Deity): Jagadeeswarar (only Utsava Murthi exists today)
- Thayar (Goddess): Nilamangaivalli Thayar
- Theertham: Akroora Theertham

Though the original moolavar vigraham and sanctum have been lost to time, a shrine dedicated to the Utsava murthi of Jagadeeswarar is preserved in the northern prakaram of Ulagalantha Perumal Temple, ensuring that the spiritual legacy continues.
Sacred Legends
Tiru Neeragam, like several shrines in Vishnu Kanchi, stands as a testament to the devotion of sages and kings alike. The Theertham here, Akroora Theertham, is believed to have divine powers and is associated with Akroora, the noble devotee of Lord Krishna. The Vimanam — Jagadeeswara Vimanam — reflects the glory of the universal Lord (Jagadeeswarar), who showers grace upon devotees despite the absence of a moolavar form.
