Sacred Legends & Theological Significance
As per Sthala Purana, the celestial sage Narada, cursed by Lord Brahma, was freed from the curse after worshipping Lord Vishnu at this kshetram. Pleased with his devotion, the Lord granted Narada the unique privilege to propagate “Tatvagnana”—spiritual and philosophical wisdom—to mankind.
Narada is also believed to have composed the Narada Purana here, laying down systematic forms of worship. Additionally, the temple is said to have been constructed by Nakula, the fourth Pandava, making it one of the five Kerala temples associated with the Pandavas.
